Practical Test Centres Near Minehead
Minehead learners typically book their practical at Barry, around sixteen miles north-east across the Bristol Channel in South Wales. Barry posts a pass rate well above the national average and draws learners from both sides of the water, so test routes cover a mix of residential areas and busier link roads around the town. Most instructors build in a few longer drives during lessons to get comfortable with the crossing and the Welsh side.
Bridgend sits roughly twenty-one miles north and runs at a slightly lower pass rate but still decent overall, while Taunton is the same distance south-east and posts a mid-range pass rate. Both serve as useful alternatives when Barry slots are hard to find, though Taunton keeps you on the Somerset side if that suits your lesson schedule better.
