Intensive isn’t the right fit for everyone. Here’s how to know whether it suits where you are right now.
An intensive driving course in Brighton offers a focused and efficient route to passing your driving test, with the city's coastal location and varied road network providing ideal preparation. Our courses are designed around the requirements of the local test centre, ensuring you build the confidence and skills needed to succeed. Brighton's combination of busy seafront roads, residential streets and arterial routes creates an environment where you'll encounter the full range of driving scenarios that examiners assess.
During your intensive course, you'll gain familiarity with key roads such as the A23 and A270, which form important parts of test routes in the area. Lessons will cover manoeuvres in quieter residential zones as well as navigating busier areas near landmarks like the Brighton Palace Pier and around the Lanes. You'll practise dealing with roundabouts, traffic lights and the sometimes challenging parking situations that characterise Brighton's street layout. Our instructors know the test routes thoroughly and will ensure you're comfortable with the types of junctions, road layouts and traffic conditions you're likely to face on test day.
The intensive format means you can complete your training in just one or two weeks, making it perfect for those who need to pass quickly or who learn better through concentrated practice rather than spread-out lessons. Each day typically involves several hours of professional tuition, allowing you to develop muscle memory and decision-making skills rapidly. We'll work on your hazard perception, safe driving techniques and the manoeuvres required by the DVSA, all while exploring roads that extend from the seafront up towards areas like Preston Park and beyond.
Our pass rates reflect the quality of preparation we provide, with students benefiting from modern training vehicles and instructors who understand exactly what examiners look for at the Brighton test centre. Whether you're a complete beginner or someone returning to driving after a break, an intensive course can be tailored to your current ability level. Book your intensive driving course with Rated Driving today.
Brighton learners typically book their practical at Lancing, around eight miles west along the coast, which runs at a pass rate slightly above the national average. Test routes there cover a mix of residential streets and main roads that run parallel to the seafront, so most instructors spend the final lessons working those coastal approaches and the roundabouts inland from the A27.
Burgess Hill is the second-closest option, roughly nine miles north, with a pass rate just below average but still reasonable for most learners. Crawley sits around eighteen miles north and posts a lower pass rate, so it tends to be a fallback when Lancing and Burgess Hill are fully booked.
Brighton has its own theory test centre just under a mile north-west of the city centre, making it the obvious first choice for local learners. Worthing is around ten miles west if Brighton slots are tight, and Eastbourne is roughly nineteen miles east as a third option.
Driving Test Success covers all DVSA revision and hazard perception material.
