Hand-matched to a top-rated local instructor, backed by our 14-day match-or-refund.
Since May 2026 nobody can move your test date except you. So we run a learner-to-learner exchange instead: you list the test you already have and the dates that would suit you better, and we look for another learner who wants to trade. It comes with your course, not at an extra price.
- 1 You list the test you already haveYour centre, your date, and the dates that would suit you better. About two minutes.
- 2 We look for a learner whose booking fitsChecked against the rules DVSA publishes. Your name is never shared: the only thing that passes between two learners is a booking reference, and only once you have both said yes.
- 3 One of you calls DVSA, and DVSA makes the swapDVSA phones the other learner, checks with you both, and changes the two bookings. We are not allowed to book, change, swap or cancel a test for you, and we never do.
What we will not claim. We cannot promise you a match. It depends on another learner wanting your date as much as you want theirs, and on DVSA agreeing it on the call. It is open to every Rated Driving learner and it works better the more people list, which is why it comes with the course rather than at a price.
Add your email and we will send this quote over. You can carry on booking without it.
It changes how we match you, so it helps to know either way.
Rated Driving will email you about this quote: your price and course details, plus one reminder if you do not finish booking. Nothing else, never sold or shared, one-click unsubscribe in every email.

Real learners, hand-matched and passed

You now book your own practical test
Since 12 May 2026, it's against the law for anyone other than the learner, including driving instructors and businesses like us, to book, change, cancel or swap your practical driving test. This is a DVSA rule change, not something we control.
You book directly on GOV.UK, using your provisional licence number, theory test pass number and a card. We can give you our ADI reference number to help find slots that work for your instructor, but the booking itself has to be you.
You're also limited to 2 changes per booking, and cancelling needs at least 10 working days' notice. Only ever pay the official DVSA fee: £62 on weekdays, £75 on evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Be wary of any site charging more.
What we still do: hand-match your instructor, help you judge when you're genuinely test-ready, and support you right up to test day.
Still there? Your course is held.
Your 30-hour course at £1,760 is saved exactly as you left it, nothing's lost.
No rush — we’ll also email you a link so you can pick up exactly where you left off.
We usually reply in a few minutes. A real person, not a bot.
